Sporting challenges awaited visitors to MAN Truck and Bus UK as the company made its return to Truckfest Peterborough in 2015.
Would-be truck racers put their driving to the test on a Brands Hatch circuit in a MAN D38 cab, while pitting their skills against three-times British champion, and current titleholder Mat Summerfield.
MAN Truckers World is hosted a race simulator where up to nine people raced “live”, head-to-head and against the time set by Mat for completing a circuit of the track.
Keith Sims, operations director for MAN dealers HRVS Group Ltd, which is main sponsor to Summerfield Trucksport, said: “It was great for Mat to take on some ‘proper’ drivers.”
The Performance Zone for racers is totally self-contained and each ergonomic simulator has a monitor showing the D38’s cockpit view of the circuit
Best times were shown on a leader board and winners were invited back to claim their prize.
Mat was there for the two days with his race truck for 2015 – a MAN TGX fitted with a 1200bhp race engine and the very latest Canbus driver information system.
And on Monday darts player and winner of eight major titles, James Wade who is sponsored by MAN Truck and Bus UK, took on all-comers for a nine-dart challenge.
As well as these celebrity appearances MAN Truck & Bus UK displayed a range of top-of-the-range TGXs, 8x4s and rigid vehicles at the fun bank holiday event.
