Saints In Record Used Truck Deal
Airfreight haulage specialist, Saints Transport, has put pen to paper on the largest ever retail order for used trucks through MAN’s used truck programme, MAN TopUsed.
A total of 60 MAN TopUsed TGA tractor units are now on a programmed delivery to the high-profile, Heathrow-based operator, comprising a range of 6x2 tractor units. When complete, the delivery will replace Saints’s entire mixed fleet (DAF, Renault and Mercedes) with MAN product.
“We’ve never made a secret of the fact that we’re right behind the MAN brand,” said Piers Carroll, Vice-Chairman at Saints Transport, “The TGA has always been a cracking truck, and, with the MAN TopUsed seal-of-approval, we know this latest fleet really is as good as new.”
“We’ve also never made a secret of the fact that we don’t like AdBlue – it’s simply an unnecessary additional cost and a real nuisance to administer. The vast majority of our vehicles are above 7.5 tonnes and we’re quite happy to be an ‘Add Nothing’ truck fleet.” he said.
With a 35 year history, Saints has grown into one of the largest airfreight hauliers in the UK. Today, it employs 350 staff and operates over 200 vehicles at depots across the country including Manchester, Scotland, Wales and two in Heathrow. The company operates a daily service to every commercial airport in the UK.
