Pollocks Adds to MAN Fleet

Scottish transport and warehousing specialist, Pollock (Scotrans) Ltd., has added five MAN TGX tractors to its West Lothian operation. The Euro 5 26.440 6x2 units, acquired through MAN Financial Services, were also joined by two TGM middleweight rigids for the firm’s next day, local pallet distribution service.

The truck deliveries bring the total number of MANs in the tartan trimmed fleet to over 30. The TGXs will be used on general haulage operations across the UK.

Joint managing director, Scott Pollock, selected the MAN prime movers after the performance of existing TGX tractors in his fleet. “The MANs are substantially cheaper to run than the equivalent SCR-powered tractors which use AdBlue,” he said, “often up to £2,500 per vehicle per year. The MAN’s regularly return 8mpg, and for our type of operation, that’s very, very good indeed.”

He continued, “We respect our drivers’ opinions when it comes to truck hardware, and we know they are very happy behind the wheel of the TGX – the living space is voluminous, and comfort really is second-to-none.”

“Importantly,” he said, “our relationship with our local dealer, MAN Truck & Bus Broxburn, provides us with complete peace-of-mind. This is key to the successful daily operation of the business. And we can’t speak too highly of the MAN Sales Exec, Ronnie Stark.”

The eye-catching XXL cabs come factory painted. They are complemented by red chassis, and are finished in Pollock’s traditional livery applied by local specialists, OPG Fleet Vehicle Graphics.
