New MAN 26 Tonner Debuts At FPS

MAN Truck & Bus UK Ltd. is introducing a new 26 tonne chassis for the fuel-oil home delivery market – the TGM 26.340 6x2-4 BL makes its debut on the G.MAGYAR SA stand at the FPS Expo 2010.

The show model features a ‘C’ day cab, Tipmatic automated gearbox rear air suspension with rear lifting and rear steering axle. The chassis becomes the latest addition to MAN’s middleweight TGM range.

This first production chassis is a joint demonstrator with tanker manufacturer, G.MAGYAR SA, and is aimed primarily at the fuel-oil home delivery market. With an unladen weight of just 6,620kgs and Magyar’s aluminium-construction tanker, the benchmark 20,000 litres of payload can be achieved.

MAN’s D08 6.9 litre engine develops 340PS using EGR ‘Add Nothing’ technology, allowing operators to do away with the costs and complexities of AdBlue.

The Magyar tanker body is equipped with metering equipment from Hamburg-based fuel management company, Alfons Haar.

Based in Dijon, France, G.MAGYAR SA has an established foothold in the UK, and, to date, has produced 400 tanker rigid-chassis bodies for British operators. The company has a 70 year history and is currently producing over 1200 tanks, of various specifications, every year.
