MAN Power For CE Electric UK

CE Electric UK, the company responsible for delivering electricity to over 3.8 million properties across the North East of England, Yorkshire and northern Lincolnshire, has added four further MAN TGM middleweights to its growing Munich-marque fleet.

The latest delivery comprises two TGM 18.250 4x4 specification rigids with rear mounted cranes for the off-road maintenance of overhead power-lines. CE Electric UK has now taken 12 MAN truck deliveries over the last 12 months making it a preferred supplier.

A 26 tonne TGM 26.340LL curtainsider is equipped with a rear-mounted Moffat fork-truck and is already based at CE Electric UK’s central store location in Billingham responsible for deliveries of palletised materials to various depots. This model was launched in the UK only last year and features full air suspension to facilitate a level ride.

Heading-up the quartet is another 26 tonner in the shape of a TGM 26.340LL with a specially engineered chassis (with axle load monitoring) to allow the addition of a large rear-mounted Palfinger PK42502 crane.

MAN was selected after fleet service providers Vehicle Lease and Service Ltd, whom CE Electric own, tendered its new vehicle requirement as part of a buying consortium, and was based on a range of operational parameters. With many of the MAN vehicles now ‘bedded in’, the company reports “outstanding performance” from its MAN’s along with “very positive” feedback from its drivers.

CE Electric UK is part of Mid America Energy Holding Corporation. It operates in the UK through through its subsidiary companies Northern Electric Distribution Ltd. (NEDL) in the North East and North Yorkshire and Yorkshire Electricity Distribution Ltd. (YEDL) in South and East Yorkshire and northern Lincolnshire.
