High Five MANs for McMurrays

Pallet specialist, McMurrays Haulage in Accrington, has added five new MAN TGX 26.440 6x2 tractors to its growing fleet of 35 maximum-weight tractors. Outstanding fuel economy from an MAN rental vehicle prompted the MAN acquisition, along with the “added bonus” of AdBlue-free operation. The company this year celebrates its 40th Anniversary.

Finance was organised through MAN Financial Services on a five-year Contract Hire agreement. McMurrays will perform its own repair and maintenance at its on-site workshop .

“Our MAN long-term rental MAN really impressed,” said Managing Director, David Mc Murray, “it regularly returned fuel figures of over 9.0mpg – outstanding for this type of operation. Already, the new TGXs look to be very good on fuel, and they’re not yet bedded in.

“It’s all about running costs and any potential savings must be considered. That’s why MAN’s no-AdBlue engine is such an added bonus for us – there’s no on-cost,” he said, “and there’s no operational hassle either.”

With locations in Accrington, Blackburn and Bolton, McMurrays core business concerns the movement of palletised goods. As a member of The Pallet Network, the company handles over 5,000 pallets every week.

McMurrays also has successful distribution contracts with a major supplier to the NHS and a well-known Homeware company.
