Haulage firm putting MAN TopUsed to the test

Confidence brand will deliver on economy and reliability

National logistics firm Bedfords has added 14 MAN TopUsed tractor units to its 61-strong fleet of trucks.

The vehicles are replacing other marques and have been acquired under MAN’s TopUsed £249 offer.

Lee Nichols, Bedfords managing director, explained: “This is the first time we have had MAN and the £249 deal was very attractive to us.

“It is an extremely competitive deal and it offers great clarity over cost control and the direct cost elements."

“The vehicles are being maintained at Pelican in Leeds and we know we will be very well looked after there.”

“Over the next few months we are going to be taking some time to carry out a full fleet review ahead of next year and as part of that we will also be seeking driver evaluations."

“We don’t see the values of the TopUsed vehicles diminishing and they are an excellent choice for our business. We are a 365-operation doing contract work and general haulage and our trucks are working 24/7.”

He added: “We were one of the early adopters of Euro 6 and were keen to be compliant quickly. We will be watching what happens with Euro 6c and planning our fleet changes accordingly.”

Chris Herd, MAN sales executive, said: “The MAN TopUsed package offers a choice of 2012 registered vehicles from just £249 per week on contract hire."

“Every TopUsed vehicle goes through a stringent inspection, preparing the vehicle to a like-new condition. All TopUsed vehicles are supplied with a full R&M package."

“The deal is very attractive and has proved to be very attractive for Bedfords and we are delighted to have been able to meet their requirements with the 14 TopUsed units.”
