MAN BrakeMatic®
MAN BrakeMatic® brake control enables the downhill driving speed set by the cruise control or brake pedal to be held constant by automatically activating the sustained-action brakes:
- Activation of the sustained-action brakes with cruise control: The MAN BrakeMatic® sustained-action braking function sets a speed 2 km/h higher than that set with the cruise control speed. The speed is maintained over downhill gradients by operating the standard intarder respectivly retarder.
- Activation of the sustained-action brakes by adaptive braking: When the vehicle is braked with the brake pedal on a downhill gradient, the speed is stored that was reached when the brakes were released. The MAN BrakeMatic® reliably maintains the set speed is over downhill gradients by operating the standard intarder respectivly retarder.
- Activation of the sustained-action brakes when the maximum speed is reached with Maximum Speed Control (MSC): When the maximum permissible speed of 100 km/h is reached, the standard sustained-action brakes engage and keep the vehicle below the maximum speed at all times.
