Emergency Brake Assist (EBA)

At a glance

  • Active warning message
Radar sensors detect dangerous situations in good time, warn the driver and trigger emergency braking if necessary.
  • Optical warning system
During emergency braking, an emergency stopping signal is activated in addition to the brake lights.

Comprehensive warning concept

The new generation of Emergency Brake Assist (EBA) increases the safety offered by MAN vehicles even further and reduces the risk of traffic accidents. The advanced emergency braking system detects emergency braking situations and warns the driver. If the driver does not react, emergency braking is activated. In this case, the ESS (Emergency Stopping Signal) is activated in addition to the brake lights – the hazard warning system signals an emergency to other traffic participants, thus reducing the risk of a rear-end collision.

Intelligent combination of radar sensor and camera

1
Quick reaction in case of danger

Emergency Brake Assist (EBA) combines information from a radar sensor installed on the vehicle front with data from the camera integrated in the windscreen. In the event of a dangerous situation, the system can react quickly and trigger emergency braking at an early stage.

2
Warning other road users

In case of an emergency braking, the ESS (Emergency Stopping Signal) is activated in addition to the brake lights – the hazard warning system signals with an increased flashing frequency to notify other traffic participants of the emergency, thus reducing the risk of a rear-end collision.
