Sustainable ideas, luxurious features and an anniversary to celebrate: These are just some of the highlights selected by MAN staff to make the exhibition appearance at Busworld 2015 a memorable experience.
From 16-21 October 2015, 390 exhibitors and 32,000 visitors will converge for one of the most significant industry events, the Busworld trade fair held at the Flemish city of Kortrijk in Belgium. The oldest fair worldwide solely dedicated buses will occupy a space of 61,000 square metres. MAN’s presentation portfolio includes five innovative models: MAN Lion’s Coach EfficientLine, NEOPLAN Skyliner, MAN Lion’s City, MAN Lion’s Intercity and NEOPLAN Cityliner. Numerous MAN staff members are working to ensure the success of the trade fair appearance. Three insiders already reveal an outlook on the highlights.
Mr. Kiess, which highlight awaits visitors at the MAN display area?
The MAN Lion’s Intercity celebrates its first exhibition premiere at Kortrijk, which will certainly be a highlight. We are positive that we can demonstrate its star qualities: simple handling, maximum comfort and safety.
MAN Truck & Bus has turned 100 years old. Will you celebrate the anniversary at Busworld?
Yes, indeed. We have a special edition of the MAN Lion’s Coach on display and intend to sell 100 of these vehicles to acknowledge the jubilee.
It will be a strenuous time for you as exhibit manager. Will you be glad when it’s all over?
We actually do experience seven rather occupying days, but I’d consider that positive stress. I am always a little wistful when it’s all over, and already look forward to the next trade exhibit.
Mr. Sahlmann, this is your seventh year to attend Busworld. Doesn’t it eventually lose its spark?
Just the opposite holds true. After all, it is the leading trade fair for the bus industry. In addition, the focus this year lies on “Sustainable Mobility”. That is a very exciting issue.
What can MAN offer in terms of sustainability for urban buses?
Much! We offer a highly efficient and environmentally vehicle with the MAN Lion’s City. In recent years, we have consistently adjusted the vehicle to even more efficiency and are exhibiting a bus in Kortrijk that features all its advancements.
Might that be your personal highlight?
Indeed, as we will present an array of innovations that have summarily resulted in the evolution of the MAN Lion’s City.
Ms. Seumel, you work in the area of “Experience Marketing”. What can Busworld 2015 visitors experience with MAN?
They can take their own trial drives with the latest MAN and NEOPLAN products on the outside tracks, for example.
And at the booth?
That is where they’ll experience luxury on wheels. The NEOPLAN Skyliner, for instance, features a bistro, while the NEOPLAN Cityliner has a comfortable club lounge – both are special solutions by our Bus Modification Centre.
Preparations for the trade fair were kicked off nine months ago. Are you looking forward to its opening?
Naturally. We’ll be represented alongside more than 200 colleagues in Kortrijk. The team is highly motivated and is eager for it to start.
