Eleven MAN coaches for Brazil’s top soccer clubs
MAN Latin America delivers team coach for Palmeiras
MAN Latin America has delivered an exclusive team coach to Sociedade Esportiva Palmeiras, a Brazilian soccer club rich in tradition. This is its eleventh team coach, which means MAN now enjoys a high-profile presence in one of the strongest soccer leagues in the world. The Volksbus 18.320 EOT for Palmeiras is prominently painted with the team colors and logo, as requested by the customer, and features an interior that offers state-of-the-art comfort and technology. MAN started the Volksbus Team project in March 2009 with the aim of providing prestigious vehicles to the top clubs in Brazilian soccer. Since then, clubs like Corinthians Sao Paulo, Santos, Vasco da Gama and Flamengo have put their trust in MAN’s premium coaches, which also have interiors customized to the needs of the players and their officials.
MAN Latin America chose the clubs after extensively analyzing media coverage, public acceptance and strategic brand positioning. “In providing the Brazilian soccer teams with the best products on the market for passenger transportation, we generate a great deal of interest,” explained Roberto Cortes, President of the MAN SE Brazilian subsidiary. “It is a huge honor for us to support the country’s most popular kind of sport with the latest technology.”
The VW 18.320 EOT was launched on the Brazilian market at the end of 2006 and has since been exported to over 30 countries. It has a Euro 3 engine and boasts 320 hp. MAN Latin America has been operating on the bus market under the VW brand since 1993. The chassis are developed and produced by working closely with the suppliers themselves in a modular system that is globally unique, while the bodies originate from other manufacturers. This makes MAN Latin America the second highest seller of buses in Brazil. The company has already led the market for trucks weighing more than 5 tons for six years, enjoying a 30.4% share of it in 2008.
