Diesel engine with optimum efficiency

The MAN Lion's City Hybrid draws on the dynamic power from a low consumption common rail engine. With up to 45 percent, it achieves the highest efficiency of all combustion engines enabling it to deliver the energy required for the high-power generator. The six-cylinder engine can always be activated whenever extra vehicle performance is needed. Though the bus is normally accelerated electrically and therefore emission-free.

In the MAN Lion's City Hybrid the electrical drive concept with a high-performance electric battery. The Lion's City Hybrid is in an Euro 6 version. The technical data are below:

Transmission – hybrid drive system

The MAN Lion's City Hybrid is fitted with a stepless hybrid drive system without interruption of tractive power.

The focus of the hybrid drive is on the usage of brake energy (energy recovery). The brake energy generated when braking is stored, and can be used for driving off for instance.

Rugged and reliable chassis

As standard, the MAN Lion's City Hybrid is fitted with a rigid axle as front axle. An anti-roll bar and disc brakes increase safety. As the driven axle, a MAN-ZF portal axle with differential offset to the left is installed on the Lion's City Hybrid.
